Mg” the relaxation mineral”

This mineral is in charge of over 300 vital processes in our body.

  •  Mg is a wonder mineral for hormone balance

  • Mg regulates the making of cholesterol. Cholesterol is needed for progesterone, estrogen and testosterone production.

  • Magnesium activates vitamin D. Supplement Magnesium and spend time in the sun and you will not need to supplement vitamin-D.

  •  Magnesium supports thyroid health

  •  Magnesium is anti-inflammatory

  •  Magnesium supports our immune system

  • Magnesium improves our sleep quality

  • Magnesium is needed for your cells to make energy

Why are most of us deficient in magnesium?

(It is actually a big health problem in the world)

  •   our soils are depleted, the foods we eat have up to 90% less magnesium than they did 100 years ago (Workinger et al., 2018)

  • our bodies dump a lot of magnesium during stress

  • many plant-based foods have antinutrients that can block magnesium absorption (oxalates, phytates)

  • caffeine depletes magnesium as do alcohol and lack of sleep.

  • refined carbs and sugar consumption “eat” magnesium. We need 28 molecules of magnesium to metabolize 1 molecule of fructose-sugar (high fructose corn syrup)

You should check your magnesium levels

  •   if you eat refined carbs & sugar on a regular basis

  • if you drink sugary drinks

  • if you supplement calcium

  • if you drink calcium-rich tap water

  • if you have Diabetes

  • if you hardly ever eat leafy greens and veggies

  • if you are under pressure daily

Signs of a low magnesium status

muscle cramps and stiffness

calcification in your body

anxiety and depression

high blood pressure

hormone imbalance

insomnia

osteoporosis

low energy

How to keep your magnesium level high

  •  Eat magnesium rich food like leafy greens, nuts, especially almonds and dark chocolate

  • Cut down on refined carbs and sugar

  • Manage your stress

  • Try to cut down on coffee and alcohol

  • Take Epsom salt baths

  • Consider supplementing Magnesium,
